Onika Tanya Maraj, known by her stage name Nicki Minaj, is a rapper, singer, songwriter and American actress born in Trinidad in Tobago. Was born in the Caribbean country and moved to the New York borough of Queens when she was five years old, majoring in art schools later. After releasing three mixtapes between 2007 and 2009, signed a record deal with Young Money. She released her debut album, Pink Friday (2010) and reached the top of the US table of best selling albums Billboard 200 and certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after one month of its distribution. The song "Super Bass" has been certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA and has sold over four million digital copies, making it one of the best selling singles in the United States. Minaj became the first artist to have seven songs as singles in the playlist Billboard Hot 100 at the same time.
